Here’s how to celebrate Holi with your kids
Of all the festivals we celebrate, Holi is the only festival when kids are allowed to be messy. Taking full advantage of the festival kids (as well as adults) are seen smeared in colours of every hue. 

There are enthusiasm and fun in the air. Festivals are also important as they help to make kids aware of our culture. We all know that Holi is the festival of colours, but what if we tell you that kids can enjoy the festival in a unique way and of course with lots of colours. Here are a few activities to get your kids to celebrate Holi.

For 0-2 year old

Celebrate with flowers

We all are aware of the fact that traditionally Holi was celebrated with petals of flowers and herbs blooming at that time. The skin of toddlers are very sensitive and flowers are the best option for them. You can use colorful flower petals and basil leaves to play Holi with them. You can even make garlands for them using colorful flowers.

Colours Stamps

Take organic colours in bowls or trays. Dip flowers or leaves in these paints and ask your kids to use them as stamps on papers and clothes.

For 2-5 year old

Holi Colouring Pages

We all know how important colours are when it comes to Holi. Get some prints of pictures related to Holi. Ask your little ones to have fun by indulging in Holi colouring activity.

Holi Letter Matching

Isn’t it the great time to introduce your kids to the letters H, O, L and I? Start with writing the alphabets in upper and lower case



and take the help of phonics to make it interesting.

For 5-7 year old

T-shirt Painting

Holi is the best time to let your kids explore their creativity. Let their kids channelize their creativity by designing their own Holi t-shirts. You will be surprised to see the complex and colourful artistic patterns your kids make.

Organise a puppet show for your kids and illustrate the historic and religious significance of festivals. Spark your kid’s budding imagination by treating them to a puppet show for children

For 7-12 year old

The first thing that comes to our mind when we say ‘Holi’ is colour. Talking about colours, everyone’s primary concern is how safe and organic are they, considering the harmful and toxic colours available in markets today. What if you go all natural and make your own colours using ingredients available in your kitchen? Well, you actually can make natural and organic colours at home using household ingredients. Let your kids help you in the activity.

What better way to celebrate the festival by organizing a Holi party? Let your kids get involved in the planning and come up with their own ideas to make the party interesting.

DIY Greeting Cards

Holi isn’t only about smearing each other with colours. It is also about splashing those colours on papers and making beautiful greeting cards. Ask your kids to gift the cards to their loved ones.
